Masterworks: Brahms Festival: Brahms Dances is part of the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra's city-wide Brahms festival, which traces 150 years of musical evolution through all four Brahms symphonies paired with new Pacific commissions. Conductor Dane Lam leads violinist Ray Chen in a program featuring Brahms' Hungarian Dance Nos. 5 & 6, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, and Brahms' Symphony No. 2 in D Major. The concert also includes the world premiere of a Pacific Brahms Commission by composer Shawn Conley, performed at the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall.
