The event was held at the Boathouse in Central Park at 6:30PM on May 14, 2018. The award was presented by stage and screen star Simon Jones (Farinelli and the King, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

(05/14/2018) - Ballet Hispanico honored Latin music superstars Emilio & Gloria Estefan with the Nuestra Inspiracion Award; legendary fashion designer Carolina Herrera with the Toda Una Vida Award; and businessman and community activist Marcos Torres with the Civic Inspiration Award; at its annual CARNAVAL Gala on Monday, May 7, 2018 at The Plaza Hotel's Grand Ballroom, 768 Fifth Avenue, NYC. Proceeds, which totaled over $1.1 million last year, benefit the creation of new choreographic works, much needed scholarships for young people, and immersive dance programs for communities around the world.

Baby2Baby supporter Blake Lively was in attendance to host the festivities and Shutterfly announced a $350K donation to Baby2Baby for 2018. Shutterfly has supported Baby2Baby since 2014, donating over $1.5M and helping Baby2Baby distribute over 39 million items making a positive impact on hundreds of thousands of low-income children across the country.

(05/09/2018) - On Monday, May 7th The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Lisa Rothe, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been leading the gender parity conversation and championing women in the professional theatre for over 35 years, presented the final Oral History event of their 2017-18 season with two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Ms. Rivera talked about her life and illustrious career with Broadway World's lead correspondent, Richard Ridge, host of Backstage with Richard Ridge.

(05/04/2018) - On April 19, 2018 Project Broadway presented the 2nd annual Broadway and Beyond: Careers in the Theater panel to the 7th and 8th grade students at St Hope Leadership Academy in Harlem. This special event was presented in partnership with Harlem Grown. In this workshop, Broadway experts came together to be part of an interactive panel where they offered their own insight, education and advice on having a career in the entertainment industry.

The 13th season continued on April 30th with SHAW SONGS, a festive cabaret evening of songs that George Bernard Shaw played, sang, and enjoyed (1856-1950). Marcia Milgrom Dodge directs with Paul Staroba serving as Musical Director.

The self-described punk-showbiz band has been praised by NPR's All Things Considered as 'musical misfits,' and 'as sharp as any revivalist act going today' by The Los Angeles Times. In a review of their self-titled debut release, Rolling Stone noted 'It wouldn't be fair to call it a purely comedy album - it's too seriously musical and carefully curated for it to be that - but Nancy And Beth wisely doesn't try to disguise the comedic gifts of its creators. Instead, it shows the way Mullally and Hunt can be totally in sync to whip up a unique, coherent vision.' The song, which won the Oscar for Best Song of the Year in 1973, became an international Gold Record and garnered Ms. McGovern a Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist.

Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner and live performances by Tony award-nominated Anika Larsen (who also hosted the evening) with her talented husband Freddie Maxwell as accompaniment, iTheatrics ensemble (our youngest performers) and soloist Lizzette Cruz.
