MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Opens At Florida Rep March 22nd

Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the opening of "Million Dollar Quartet," Broadway's rock 'n' roll sensation, playing March 22 to April 21 in the Historic Arcade Theatre. The discounted previews are March 19-21 and are nearly sold out.

Tickets for the musical are selling faster than any production in Florida Rep's recent history, and the run has already been extended to a fifth week in the historic venue. Ticket prices increased last month to $59 and $55 for regular performances and will go up again on March 12 to $65 and $59 due to overwhelming demand. Tickets are available online at and through the box office at 239-332-4488.

Based on a true story, Memphis record producer, Sam Phillips, brought four of his newest clients together for a jam session one night in 1956: Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. The famed recording session made music history. "Million Dollar Quartet" took Broadway by storm and is an electrifying glimpse of the four legends before they were rock 'n' roll icons. The musical features over twenty rock 'n' roll hits, including "Blue Suede Shoes," "Hound Dog," "Sixteen Tons," "Great Balls of Fire," and many more!

"This musical is like nothing the Arcade Theatre has ever seen," said Artistic Director, Greg Longenhagen. "Not only will the music blow the roof off of the Arcade, but the story is compelling, and the look at these four musicians at the start of their iconic careers is touching, funny, and extremely exciting. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash changed the music industry, and I can't wait for you to hear their story and their music."

Florida Rep has assembled an A-list cast for the musical, several of them playing their roles for a fifth, sixth, or tenth time. Florida Rep ensemble member, Brendan Powers, returns this season as record producer, Sam Phillips ("Hay Fever"), and is joined by Joe Boover as Elvis (Florida Rep debut), Gregg Hammer as Johnny Cash (Florida Rep debut), Jeremy Sevelovitz as Carl Perkins (Florida Rep debut), and Brady Wease as Jerry Lee Lewis ("Shear Madness). Also in the cast are Julie Kavanagh as Dyanne (Too Marvelous for Words), Daniel Bailey playing bass (Florida Rep debut), and David Sonneborn on drums (Florida Rep debut).

Associate Artistic Director and ensemble member, Jason Parrish ("The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"), directs "Million Dollar Quartet" and is joined by Resident Set Designer Jordan Moore ("Cabaret"), ensemble Costume Designer Stephanie Genda ("Cabaret"), Lighting Designer Julie Duro ("Twelve Angry Men"), Sound Designer Katie Lowe ("Damascus"), Music Director David Sonneborn (Florida Rep debut), and Stage Manager Kathleen Barrett (Florida Rep debut).

"Million Dollar Quartet" is generously sponsored by Ellie Fox.
