Curtain Call Productions will present a special one weekend only performance of The Who's Tommy: The Album in Concert at Flagler Place in Historic Downtown Stuart tonight, May 16th and tomorrow, May 17th.

Tommy is an album that has achieved both critical and commercial success, and has gone on to inspire a hit Broadway musical. With musical direction by Dr. Jimmy Autin of McCartney Mania, Lead Vocals by Cerveza Frontman Xander James and an all-star group of musicians and guest vocalists, Tommy will be a legendary event not to miss!

This show is the beginning of a brand new Master Records Live series by Curtain Call Productions, which has brought hit shows like Avenue Q and The Rocky Horror Show, as well as Beneva Fruitville's Drag Queen Bingo Bonanza, but for the first time will take on albums in the form of concerts. "When Jimmy came to me with the idea, we immediately connected. Tommy was a standout choice- with such a hold in musical theatre, Tommy is the perfect album to bridge into this new series," says Artistic Director Jake Sanders. Sanders is hoping to be able to do more albums very soon- Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, Abbey Road by The Beatles and more are all on the docket for the series.

"The music of this show is completely captivating" says Xander James, who is the lead vocalist for the show, "It's amazing to see how something written over 40 years ago feels so relevant and not at all dated today." Curtain Call's version will be somewhere between the album and the hit musical, with guest vocalist appearances by Heidi Condon as The Acid Queen, Mariano Garcia IV as Uncle Ernie, and Cody Rogers as Cousin Kevin. The band is made up of keyboardist Dr. Jimmy Autin, Lead Vocalist Xander James, Lead Guitar and Vocalist Scott Benge, Rhythm Guitar Chad Abramson, Bassist Joe Sophia and Percussionist John Houpt.

"I wanted to recreate this album so we could present it to our local audience in its original form," says Dr. Jimmy Autin, who has played the piano in the musical at the Lyric Theatre before. "Working with so many younger musicians and bringing them this music is enthralling. Music has a power to bridge generations like nothing else."

Tommy: In Concert runs May 16th and 17th at Flagler Place in Historic Downtown Stuart with performances Friday and Saturday at 8PM at 201 Flagler Avenue, Stuart, FL-34994. The show runs approximately two hours. For tickets, call 772-777-1596, online at www.curtaincallfl.com. Tickets are $25 with student tickets available for $15.
