The South Florida theatre community will unite to celebrate the life of Tony Finstrom on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Lynn University's Wold Performing Arts Center in Boca Raton. The beloved theatrical playwright, producer, philanthropist, and fan was a dynamic theatre champion and one of most beloved members of the arts community. His dear friends, and key members of the theatre realm, have planned a very special tribute, highlighting his indelible impact on not only the South Florida Theatre Community, but all he touched. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Last October, Finstrom conceived and supervised the celebration of Iris Acker, his dear friend, and South Florida theater icon, who passed away, suddenly. Of it, Finstrom said "Iris had told me that she wanted her memorial to be a party . . . light and fun. And that is what we will do! Throw a party! This will be more of a show than a memorial service."

The celebration for Finstrom, conceived and produced by Andy Rogow, Michael McKeever, and Matt May, will exude a similar feel. "This is going to be a production where Tony, front row center, would be leaping to his feet and cheering on," said May. McKeever echoed May's sentiments with "Our dear friend will be grinning from ear to ear, wherever he is." Rogow explained that the trio "didn't want to present a 'and then he did this and then he did that,' but rather, channel our inner theatrical roots, and put on a celebration that echoed Tony's passion and love for live theater."

Several South Florida theatre artists will be featured, assisting in the tribute to their biggest fan.

The theatrical celebration begins at 7:00pm, in the auditorium, followed by a reception in the lobby. Additionally, a collection of memorabilia and Finstrom's works will be on display.
