Please prepare a short song and have a contrasting selection ready if asked. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an

accompanist will be provided. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. Be prepared to stay and dance if asked. Sides will be distributed once you have set up your audition appointment (The character of Sam Philllips in MILLON DOLLAR QUARTET may do the provided sides #1 or #2 or a monologue). Visually impaired performers may request an advance copy of the sides when making an audition appointment.

Bonnie & Clyde is an electrifying and sexy story of love, adventure and crime with a score combining blues, gospel, and rockabilly music. The musical centers on Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the ill fated lovers, and outlaws whose story has been infamous since they achieved folk hero status during the Great Depression. From two small-town nobodies to Texas law enforcement’s worst nightmares, the pair’s bold and reckless behavior turns their thrilling adventure into a downward spiral. Forced to stay on the run, the infamous duo’s fame grows, and their inevitable ends draws nearer.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET – In December 1956, at the legendary Sun Records in Memphis, an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together for one of the greatest jam sessions ever at the studio where they all launched their careers. The Tony Award-nominated musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET brings the night to life. The tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayals, and celebrations includes smash hits such as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Walk the Line,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Hound Dog,” and much more. The jam session is the only performance of the quartet’s, called “a cultural flashpoint that caught rock ‘n roll at the moment of creation.”

Jerry Lee Lewis: Male, 21 - 31. singer/pianist; he was rock ‘n’ roll’s legendary piano prodigy and celebrated “Last Man Standing.” A superb piano player, able to play like Jerry Lee Lewis; fun, energetic; comic skills a plus. NOTE: Please prepare a Jerry Lee Lewis song (or song in that style or from the era) and accompany yourself on the piano. In the production, Jerry Lee Lewis sings: “Real Wild Child,” “Great Balls Of Fire,” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.”

Sam Phillips: Male- 33 - 45. “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and founder of Sun Records who discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and many others including Roy Orbison and B.B. King; a towering and charismatic figure in American music; NOTE: For the audition, please prepare sides from the show.

Carl Perkins: Male - 21-35. singer/guitar player (lead guitar); he was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes.” An excellent lead guitarist. NOTE: Please prepare a Carl Perkins or Elvis Presley song (or song in that style from that era) and accompany yourself on the guitar. An amp will be provided. In the production, Carl Perkins sings: “Matchbox,” “Who Do You Love?” “My Babe,” and “See You Later, Alligator.”

Johnny Cash: Male - 31-35. singer/guitar player; Johnny Cash at the dawn of his epic career. Familiar with his music and able to play guitar; tall; should sound and look somewhat like Johnny without being an “impersonator.” NOTE: Please prepare a Johnny Cash song (or song in that style from that era) and accompany yourself on the guitar. In the production, Johnny Cash sings: “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk the Line,” and “Riders In The Sky.”

Dyanne: Female – 21 - 31. Excellent singer; she was an aspiring singer and Elvis’s girlfriend; ahead of her time and assertive, she’s a great singer with a wide range; sings solos and back-up throughout the show; sings “Fever” in her alto range and covers the high soprano part of “Riders In The Sky” (Johnny Cash song); NOTE: for the audition, please prepare a song from the era. In the production, Dyanne sings “Fever” and “I Hear You Knockin’.”

Elvis Presley: Male – 21 - 31. singer/guitar player; Elvis in his 20s at the beginning of his career. Familiar with his music and able to play guitar; should sound and look somewhat like Elvis without being an “impersonator.” NOTE: Please prepare an Elvis Presley song (or a song in that style or from the era) and accompany yourself on the guitar. In the production, Elvis sings: “Memories Are Made Of This,” “That’s All Right,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Peace In The Valley,” “Party,” and “Hound Dog.”

LITTLE ME– a musical comedy written by Neil Simon with music by legendary composer Cy Coleman, relates the incredible story of Belle Poitrine, born in humble circumstances but determined to gain wealth, culture, and social position. She achieves diva status through advantageous marriages and love affairs, bringing her the stature she seeks when the men meet unfortunate, and comic ends at opportune moments. The story is based on a novel by Patrick Dennis (Auntie Mame).

SEEKING:

Man 1: Male 30 – 45. Comedic, Sings and dances. Doubles as several characters of various ages and backgrounds including - Noble Eggleston - Our hero, Mr. Pinchley - A well-known miser, Val du Val - an entertainer, Fred Poitrine - A First World War private, Bennie Buchsbaum - a producer, Otto Schnitzler – a film director, Prince Cherney - an admirer. Baritone

Belle Poitrine: Female 25 - 40. The show follows Belle’s career from humble beginnings, through a series of advantageous marriages, to a diva’s life of luxury. Mezzo, Comedic, age spans 60 years.

Ensemble Men & Women: Who play various characters of show performers, soldiers, townspeople, actors, friends, parents, etc. - 20 - 45. Singers, who dance well. Tap dancing a plus.

CARRIE- Stephen King’s blockbuster 1974 debut novel, “Carrie,” and the classic 1976 film are the basis for Carrie: The Musical. The story portrays the horrifying consequences when high schooler Carrie White is bullied by the popular crowd and is virtually invisible to everyone else. What no one knows is that she has special powers, and if pushed too far, is not afraid to use them. The 1988 musical adaptation was revived in 2012 and opened off-Broadway, receiving multiple award nominations and the Best Off-Broadway Musical award from the Off-Broadway Alliance. Carrie: The Musical features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).

SEEKING:

Carrie White: Female, 18+ to play 16 - Carrie White is a shy outcast who is often bullied by her classmates. While showering at school, Carrie has her first period, for which the other girls in her class tease her. This event sparks the emergence of Carrie's telekinetic powers, which she ultimately uses for revenge after being cruelly pranked at the prom. Mezzo-Soprano, High Note E5, Low Note A3. Belting, rock.

Margaret White: Female 40 - 55 - One of the main antagonists of the show. Carrie's overprotective and abusive mother, Margaret is a religious zealot. Although she loves Carrie and wants to protect her from the world, especially from the school, her fanaticism often drives her to abuse her daughter. Soprano, High Note E5, Low Note C4 (Middle C).

Sue Snell: Female, 18+ to play 16-18 - This character is one of the most popular girls at school, Sue initially teases Carrie like all the other girls, but later feels remorse for what she's done. To make up for all she's done, she asks her boyfriend, Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom instead of her. Mezzo Soprano, High Note E5, Low Note A3. Belting, rock.

Tommy Ross: Male, 18+ to play 16-18 - Carrie's version of a Prince Charming. At first Tommy takes no interest in Carrie but takes her to the prom after his girlfriend, Sue, asks him to. Tommy is apprehensive but soon finds himself wanting to become friends with Carrie. Tenor High Note C5, Low Note B2.

Chris Hargensen: Female, 18+ to play 16-18 - The most brutal antagonists of the show. Chris hates Carrie, bullying her at every opportunity. She leads the other girls in throwing tampons at Carrie after she has her first period and feels no remorse after the fact. After Chris is banned from the prom as punishment for bullying Carrie, she vows revenge. Mezzo-Soprano High Note E5, Low Note A3, belting, rock.

Miss Gardner: Female, 30 – 40 – The high school P.E. teacher and Carrie's Fairy Godmother. At first, she is disgusted by what she sees in the shower but soon realizes that Carrie has no idea what's happening to her. She explains menstruation to Carrie and helps Carrie develop her self-esteem. Alto, High Note B4, Low Note A3, belting, rock.

Mr. Stephens: Male, 30 - 40 - This well-intentioned English teacher and guidance counselor struggles to help his students realize their potential. A dedicated educator, he's stretched thin in his duties, woefully underpaid, and a bit overwhelmed as to how to handle the Billy Nolans of the classroom zone. Tenor/Baritone, High Note B4, Low Note A3, belting, rock.

Billy Nolan: Male, 19 - Now in his 6th year of high school, he’s a stupid bad boy whose wise mouth troublemaking has led him to spend more time in detention than in class. Chris manipulates him to do her bidding. Tenor/Baritone High Note C5, Low Note B2, belting, rock.

Ensemble Men & Women: Who play High School students Frieda, Norma, Helen, George, Stokes, Freddy - 18 - 29. Singers, who dance very well.

HEATHERS - is based on the classic 1989 film. The setting is Westerberg High, ruled by the shoulder padded, scrunchie-wearing Heather, Heather and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. Misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place - six feet under. Brought to you by the award-winning creative team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness, “Desperate Housewives”), Laurence O’Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde) and Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness, She’s the Man), Heathers: The Musical is a hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new show based on the greatest teen comedy of all time.

VERONICA SAWYER: CAST - 17. Burns to be both cool and kind but doesn’t yet know how to be both at the same time. Fierce sense of right and wrong, keen sense of ironic humor. Thinks she’s an old soul, but she’s still innocent enough to be blindsided by love or shocked by cruelty. Mezzo

JASON “J.D.” DEAN: CAST - 17. He is darkly charismatic, compelling, attractive, charming on the outside yet very damaged on the inside. Keen smarts and strong inventive comedy. Voice: Strong, confident belt to at least an Ab, A preferable; wide emotional range.

HEATHER CHANDLER: CAST - 17. The richest, hottest, cruelest girl in town. Relishes power and wields it without fear, patience, or mercy. Mezzo.

HEATHER MCNAMARA: CAST - 17. Beautiful, innocent, stupid. Can be mean on command if Heather Chandler orders it, but actually quite vulnerable and fearful. Soprano.

HEATHER DUKE: CAST - 17. The whipped beta dog of the three Heathers. Deeply insecure. When she finally becomes Queen Bee, she wields power like a bulldozer. Mezzo.

MARTHA DUNSTOCK: CAST - 17. Nicknamed “Martha Dumptruck,” the opposite of confident and popular. Huge and beautiful soul, optimistic even in the face of rejection. (Although this character is traditionally played by a plus-sized actress, we are open to all casting opportunities.) Mezzo.

RAM SWEENEY: CAST - 17. Linebacker. Big, insensitive to the feelings of others, ruled by appetites. Baritone.

KURT KELLY: CAST - 17. Quarterback and captain. Chiseled, rude, entitled, cocky. He’s the brains in the friendship with Ram. Tenor.

RAMS'S DAD/BIG BUD DEAN/COACH RIPPER: CAST - Male 40 - 55 - Ram’s Dad: Former football player turned suburban Dad, has never outgrown his glory days in high school. Hates weakness, but capable of soul-searching when tragedy strikes. Doubles as Big Bud Dean: JD’s single Dad. Big jolly personality that barely conceals the enormous rage bubbling just below the surface. Quite possibly a

serial bomber and Coach Ripper: Stalwart, man’s man; quick to defend his players. Voice: Baritone/Tenor – power Country/Gospel belt to Ab.

MS. FLEMING/VERONICA'S MOM: CAST - 45 – 50. Ms. Fleming: Aging hippie teacher, still yearning for the day the Age of Aquarius reaches Ohio. Resentful of today’s entitled youth, protective of the underdogs. Despite a penchant for self-promotion, genuinely cares about the students in her charge. Veronics's Mom: Easygoing, distant, yet capable of laying down the law. Soprano.

KURT'S DAD/VERONICA'S DAD/PRINCIPAL GOWAN: CAST - Male, 40 – 55 - Kurt’s Dad: Strait laced, very conservative, also former football player. A simple guy, not book smart, you’d be happy to share a beer with him. Doubles as Veronica’s Dad: Easygoing and distant. Voice: Strong Baritone/Tenor - power Country/Gospel belt to G, even higher better and Principal Gowan: Rumpled, burned out, hates conflict.

PREPPY STUD/OFFICER MILNER/DANCE CAPTAIN/ENSEMBLE: Male, 18+ to play 16-18 - A blow-dried 80’s preppy. Voice: Baritone/Tenor up to G#.

ENSEMBLE: CAST - Students from Sherwood, Ohio. Some archetypes include Beleaguered Geek, Preppy Stud, Hipster Dork, New Wave Girl, Stoner Chick, and Young Republicanette
