Preparation
For auditions please prepare 32 bars of music, a 1 minute monologue of your choice, and applicable music and book sides. Sides will be sent as an attachment with email confirmation.

Please bring TWO copies of your most current stapled-together picture and resume. NO PAPER CLIPS, PLEASE.

Breakdown

SYNOPSIS:
Jim and Della are out of work and penniless during Christmas in New York. To afford presents for each other, both secretly part with their most precious possessions. In O. Henry’s classic holiday story, the two lovers' gesture of giving creates a warm and intimate Christmas in the cold, unfriendly city. Set to the music of Randy Courts, this charming and transcendent musical will kindle the holiday spirit in the heart of Atlanta.

**THE ROLES OF JIM, DELLA, CITY HER AND CITY HIM ARE PRE-CAST. AUDITIONEES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR UNDERSTUDY ROLES AS WELL AS POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS IF NEEDED.**

MALE CHARACTER:
1.) SOAPY SMITH: 50s, cheerful bum, comic relief from Jim and Della's struggles, baritone (G-G)

FEMALE or MALE CHARACTER:
1.) WILLY PORTER: early 20s, newsboy, narrator, tenor (B-B)
