For roles other than Henry and Mortimer: Please prepare a brief, appropriate song (standard, legit musical theatre; no pop/rock). Bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose.
For the role of Henry: Please prepare an appropriate comedic monologue, 2 minutes or less.
For the role of Mortimer: Please prepare a short “death” pantomime of your own creation.
All: Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

El Gallo (Narrator):
Man, 30-50. Seeking a ruggedly handsome, charismatic actor with sex appeal. Should have a facility for verse and excellent comedic skills. Moves very well. Baritone, low A to G above middle C.
Luisa (The Girl):
Looks 20 or younger. Requires very strong acting and singing. Some dance. Soprano range with a B below middle C with strong and consistent high C. Some coloratura and chest singing.
Matt (The Boy):
Looks around 20. Seeking a strong actor and singer, energetic, with some dance. Lyric baritone with low A to G above middle C.
Hucklebee (The Boy’s Father):
An ex-Navy chief. A bit sloppy. Seeking a strong character actor. Some dance. Baritone, low A to middle C. Must be able to handle harmony.
Bellomy (The Girl’s Father):
A button-maker. Neat. Seeking a strong character actor. Some dance. Baritenor, low A to G above middle C.
Henry (The Old Actor):
Seeking an excellent character actor able to play very old, with strong stage presence. Shakespearean experience an asset. Non-singing role.
Mortimer (The Indian):
Henry's sidekick. Seeking an “ageless” character actor with good pantomime ability. Cockney accent. Non-singing role.
The Mute:
Not a mime. Must move very well and have excellent concentration. Understudies the role of Matt, and so has the same requirements as that role.
