NOTE: Actors must be comfortable w/ strong sexual content

Philip Graves

50s, white, Boston Brahmin. Reserved, brooding, a drinker but not a drunk, a lesson learned from witnessing his mother’s downfall. His comfortable life has come apart after his wife’s death. His work-driven existence has left him no true friends to turn to during this moment of need. Never lost the handsomeness of his youth: on the contrary, he has grown into his looks. There is rage and anger underneath and that is where his guilt comes from. Charming, conflicted and broken. (Partial nudity required in the production, but not at the auditions)

Mirabel

28-34, African-American, Roxbury. Agile, nervous, vulnerable and vengeful. A fighter who fights only when pushed. Life on the streets has made her hard but not callous. She could be attractive but that brings attention that’s unwanted in her life. She’s in trouble and that drives her to make questionable decisions (must be comfortable sexual content; partial nudity required in the production, but not at the auditions)

Young Man

20, looks younger, white, thin, frail. Androgynous but not effeminate. A quiet yet commanding presence; there’s something churning behind his gaze. He has a beauty that both men and women would take notice of. Not physically strong, but driven by a refusal to be alone. (full nudity required in the production, but not at the auditions)
