BREAKDOWN

MAKING GOD LAUGH
(1st Reh. 4/4, Open 4/20, Close 5/14) Precast: Ruthie, Bill, Maddie

Available Roles:

RICHARD - eldest son. Mid-to-late twenties as we start. Ages to mid-to-late fifties. He wants to conquer the world and is always looking for ways to do that. Not a plugger, more of an entrepreneur. He buys the latest everything and dresses up to the second stylish. He's a good guy but has perhaps seen too many movies of how men behave rather than behaving as he would. A one-time football hero, he misses that kind of spotlight

THOMAS - son two, the baby of the family and the good son. Starts early 20’s. Ages to early 50’s. A nice, even-tempered guy, in the style of his father, who thought his life was on a plan. A devoutly religious man studying for the priesthood at the beginning he's nonetheless funny, warm, and not at all rigid in his approach to life. He means very well but like everyone has his life turn out differently than he planned

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
(1st Reh. 5/30, Open 6/8, Close 7/2)

Remount of 2016 production with offers out to all original cast.
Could be seeking with Equity Contract:
ELVIS – 20s; male; actor/singer/guitar player to portray Elvis in his 20s at the beginning of his career. Must be familiar with his music and able to play guitar; should sound and look somewhat like Elvis without being an “impersonator”.
Please prepare an Elvis Presley song (or a song in that style or from the era) and accompany yourself on the guitar. In the production, Elvis sings:
“Memories Are Made Of This”, “That’s All Right”, “Long Tall Sally” ,“Peace In The Valley”, “Party” and “Hound Dog”

JERRY LEE LEWIS– 20s; male; actor/singer/pianist; he was rock & roll’s legendary piano prodigy and celebrated “Last Man Standing.” Must be a superb piano player, able to play like Jerry Lee Lewis; fun, energetic; comic skills a plus.
Please prepare a Jerry Lee Lewis song (or song in that style or from the era) and accompany yourself on the piano. In the production, Jerry LeeLewis sings: “Real Wild Child”, “Great Balls Of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’

CARL PERKINS – mid 20s; male; actor/singer/guitar player (lead guitar); he was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes”; Must be an excellent lead guitarist.
Please prepare a Carl Perkins or Elvis Presley song (or song in that style from that era) and accompany yourself on the guitar. An amp will be provided. In the production, Carl Perkins sings:
“Matchbox” “Who Do You Love?” “My Babe” “See You Later, Alligator”

GUYS ON ICE
(1st Reh. 7/18, Open 8/3, Close 8/27) Precast: Ernie, Lloyd

Available Role:
MARVIN - Late 30’s/40’s - Working class guy, bachelor from northern Wisconsin. May
seem a little slow on the uptake, but there is a native intelligence and wry good humor
that suggests active thought life. There is a casual pace to life in Door County, especially
in the winter. No locals are in a hurry to get anywhere. Snow days and sick days are
common. Beer drinking can start very early in the day.

FOOTLOOSE
(1st Reh. 8/22, Open 9/7, Close 10/1) Precast: Most youth roles will come from the Old Creamery intern company and adult roles from the local Equity and non-Equity acting company:

Still seeking with possible Equity contracts:
REVERAND SHAW MOORE – 40’s The minister of Bomont County, and father of a teenage girl (Ariel). The secret to the character of Reverend Moore is that he is charismatic. Charming, even. Shaw has a quick mind, a loving heart and a sense of humor. All of which endear him to his congregation. While trying to be strong for so many people, however, he continues to mourn the death of his son – the one person he could not save. Only ARIEL and VI (and eventually Ren) get a glimpse of this private anguish and the flashes of frustration and temper that arise form that.
REN MCCORMACK (early/mid 20’s)– A” teenage” boy from Chicago. Strong pop belt and excellent dance skills. He must also be witty (good comedic timing). Ren is a cut-up, a joker who enjoys a good time. Lately, though, his fun-loving attitude has taken on a tone of desperation, as he tries too hard to convince the world – and himself – that his father’s desertion hasn’t wounded him as deeply as it has. Ariel is the first character to get Ren to talk about that sticky subject. It’s a journey from boyhood to maturity.

THE CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES IN RISE UP, OH MEN
(1st Reh. 9/26, Open 10/12, Close 11/12) Precast: Vivian, Karin, Mavis, Pastor, and Elroy

Available Role:
Carl - A stoic old-school Norwegian farmer who loves to carve. His son has gone to the University and has new ideas on how to run the farm while Carl is getting on and would love to settle down and carve, but the idea of not farming anymore means giving up on life to him. He loves his son - and even told him once as his son was about to ship out overseas. He’s a good man. Also plays Roger the Furnace Salesman from the Cities. He’s one of those guys that attempts to sweet-talk his way into sales and never quite gets there. He’s had numerous sales jobs, but fails at all of them. He’s like Harold Hill’s loser brother.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL - 5 actor Patrick Barlow adaptation
(1st Reh 11/1, Open 11/16, Close 12/17)
Precast: ALL

Also Seeking/Interviewing Stage Managers (either in person or by email/mail submission) for various stage manager positions within the 2017 season and beyond.
