BETTY – A4 to F5 with a strong belt. She reads 40 to early 50s, the manager of Armadillo Acres, North Florida's most exclusive manufactured housing community. She is very tough on the outside with a heart of gold, but doesn’t mind speaking her peace with anyone. She has her rules and is the only one who can break them. Must be an extremely versatile actress/singer who is also strong mover and good at ad-libs.

LIN – A4 to E5 with a strong belt. She reads 34 - 44, Betty's cohort and 2nd in the Greek Chorus of Trailer Park divas. She has big hair and a big mouth. PICKLES – A4 to F5 with a strong belt. She reads 17 - 20, Betty's 3rd cohort. Must be young and naïve, but has also been around the block. Pickles is a dumb blonde type who has hysterical pregnancies. She’s married to a guy from Jacksonville (the hotspot of Florida) and loves him despite his faults. Must be a versatile actress/singer and strong mover who is good with ad-libs.

NORBERT GARSTECKI – Baritone, G#3 to E4. He reads 37 - 47, out of shape, stocky, loveable southern redneck toll collector who is trying to get his wife to come out of their mobile home to celebrate their 20th anniversary. He was a high school football jock who fell in love with his Geometry tutor.

JEANNIE GARSTECKI – Must be able to belt and sing legit, F3 to C5. She reads 37 – 47. NEUROSIS: THE MUSICAL

Dir: Walter Ryon

Music Dir: Mark Goodman

1st Reh: 5/28/13, Open 7/18, Close 8/10/13

FRANK – Reads 30. Frank is a regular guy -- charming and quirky, but awkward and timid about the outside world. Whether he knows it or not, Frank is looking for any connection in life – whether it be with his parents, himself or a relationship – and he’s ready to risk it all to find it. Tenor/High Baritone, B2 - G4. Strong upper range for power ballad and rock.

NEUROSIS – Reads 30. Neurosis is Frank’s neurosis, personified. They are best friends. He’s a little more unkempt, cynical and nervous version of Frank. Frank and Neurosis have a light rapport together – sort of like a borsht-belt comedy duo. Neurosis can be loud and opinionated, but always respectful of his friendship. Tenor, C3 - A4. Lighter than Frank.

ABBY – Reads late 20s. Abby has achieved much in her professional and educational life, but failed in so many ways in her personal life. She’s sweet, but being tossed around by life has given her a wicked sense of humor and ability to dive into the cynical. She’s a strong woman making strong decisions that are not always correct. Legit Soprano/Mezzo, A3 - C5, and belt/mix up to D5.

NEUROSALINA – Reads late 20s. Abby’s neurosis, personified. Think of the popular bitchy girl in high school that you always hung out with because she was pretty and cool, but you never quite felt accepted by her. Pretty and confident, but there’s an insecurity hiding underneath it all. Mezzo A3 - C5.

GERI – Reads 60s. Frank’s mother, strong Jewish mother type. She has put all of her life into her only child and she’s going to do her best to see that he doesn’t go making the wrong choices in his life. Alto G3 - C5, strong "Jewish mother" belt.

KENNY – Reads 60s. Frank’s father. He ultimately bends to the whim of Geri, but that doesn’t mean he hides his opinion. He’s a lawyer, works hard and just wants everyone to calm down. Lower Baritone, role is mostly spoken.

SAMANTHA – Reads 40s-60s. She is Frank’s therapist. She’s not a touchy-feely type therapist – she’s confrontational and wants clients to deal with issues, feel their feelings, and make choices to do something with their lives rather than just talk about it. Alto G3 - C5, rich lower range and powerful belt, with some gospel or country character.

KURT – Reads 40s. When we meet Abby, she is in the middle of a breakup with Kurt. He’s a low life, manipulative, handsome and buff non singing role.

LARRY – Reads 40s. He is Frank’s boss at the Humane Society. He is narcissistic and lacks empathy. That jerk boss we’ve all had at some point non singing role.
