Male Singer / Actor:
Character is mid 20s – mid 30s, any ethnicity. A single writer. Masculine, handsome (but need not be leading man). Sensitive, with a romantic side. Straight. Drinks his champagne out of a plastic cup. Self-reliant, realistic and cynical, but yearns for that perfect mate. Should not read as “sad” or a loser. Distinctive and quirky traits a plus. Comedic chops a plus. Strong baritone/baritenor; sings to G.

Female Singer / Actor:
Character is mid 20s – mid 30s, any ethnicity. A single woman, moving into her own apartment. Pretty. Perhaps a bit quirky, romantic and hopeful. Has a tough “seen it all” side. Has a job and believes in doing the right thing. Drinks champagne out of a glass. Self-reliant, and a good sense of humor and irony. Comedic chops a plus. Strong soprano with the ability to mix/belt. Range: G below middle C to G below high C; legit, not rock sound.
