Season to include BEAUTIFUL, THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL; DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST; I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE; JERSEY BOYS; CLUE; LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL.

CLUE and I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT NOW CHANGE are all principal musicals.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a 16 bar cut in the style of the show for which you wish to be considered. You may sing from our 2023-24 Season. Please bring sheet music in the key in which you would like to sing. Those wishing to play an instrument should bring what they wish to play; a piano will be provided.

ENSEMBLE:

All will be required to sing, move, and simulate playing instruments. Age: 18 to 30s. Vocal Range: SATB. Understudies will be cast from the ENSEMBLE.

Betty / Ensemble. Carole’s childhood friend. 18 (reads younger). Vocal Range: Normally a Non Singing Role / Alto.

Neil Sedaka / Righteous Brother / Lou Adler / Ensemble. Singer-Songwriter / Righteous Brother / Record Producer. Age: 18 to 30. Vocal Range: Baritone / Tenor.

Gene Vincent (Guy) / Righteous Brother / Nick / Ensemble. Righteous Brother / A composite of Carole’s second husband Charles Larkey and James Taylor. Age: 18 to 30. Vocal Range: Baritone / Tenor.

Marilyn Wald / Ensemble. A singer based on Marilyn Powell, the first girl singer to record a cover of a Beatles track when only 15. Age: 18 to 20s. Vocal Range: C5.

The Drifters. An African American male singing group comprising four members. The Drifters sang many of Carole’s, Gerry’s, Cynthia’s, and Barry’s early hits. Members drifted in and out and many of these formed other groups of Drifters as well. Songs: Some Kind of Wonderful, Up on the Roof, On Broadway, The Locomotion.

Lead Drifter / Ensemble. Vocal Range: A4 (Belt) / Eb5 (Falsetto).

Back-Up Drifters / Ensemble. Vocal Range: Up to C5.

The Shirelles, as a historical mashup of The Chiffons, The Crystals, and The Cookies. An African American female singing group comprising four members. The Shirelles sang many of Carole’s and Gerry’s early hits. The Shirelles formed in Passaic, New Jersey in 1957. They consisted of schoolmates Shirley Owens, Doris Coley, Addie “Micki” Harris, and Beverly Lee.

Lucille (Don Kirschner’s Secretary) / Shirelle / Ensemble. Age: 16 to 30s. Vocal Range: Spoken / Alto.

Janelle Woods / Shirelle / Ensemble. She and Gerry begin having an affair. Janelle is based on Earl Jean Reavis (McCrea) of The Cookies who had a child with Gerry while married to Carole. Age: 18 to 20s. Vocal Range: D5.

Little Eva / Shirelle / Ensemble. A babysitter for Carole & Gerry performs one of Carole’s and Gerry’s hits. Age: 18 to 20s. Vocal Range: E5

“Uptown Girl” / Shirelle / Ensemble. Age: 18 to 20s. Vocal Range: D5

ENSEMBLE:

MARY DELGADO: Frankie Valli's first wife. She advises Frankie on the spelling of his stage name, and marries him while the group is just starting out. They separate when the strain of Frankie's career is too much on their relationship. Also Nick's Date, Angel, among other roles.

JOE PESCI: Referred to as Joey. He is a friend of Tommy, Frankie and Nick, and helps introduce Bob Gaudio to them. Eventually becomes an actor. Also Detective One, Crewe's PA, Davis, among others.

NORM WAXMAN: The loan shark that Tommy gets into trouble with because of his increasing debts. Also Stosh, Detective Two, Hank Majewski, Police Officer, Recording Studio Engineer, Accountant's Assistant, Joe Long, among others.

LORRAINE: A reporter, and Frankie's girlfriend after he splits with Mary. Becomes one of the focal points for the fall-out between Frankie and Tommy, when Tommy hits on her despite knowing that she is with Frankie. Also Church Lady, Angel, Miss Frankie Nolan, Bob's Party Girl, Frankie's Mother, among other roles.

FRANCINE VALLI: Frankie's daughter with Mary. She initially has a strained relationship with Frankie, and wants to become a singer. She dies of a drug overdose. Also the Lead Angel, among other roles.

BARRY BELSON: A radio broadcaster. Also French Rap Star, Officer Petrillo, Hal Miller, among other roles.

ENSEMBLE MEN AND WOMEN: Various types and ages to play the people who populate the world of The Four Season. Understudies will be cast from the above ENSEMBLE roles and the ENSEMBLE.
