Preparation
Prepare a brief contemporary musical theater song showing range.
Bring sheet music for your song; a piano accompanist will be provided.
Bring a photo/resume stapled together.

Breakdown
BUDDY
This role was made famous by Will Ferrell in the movie. Buddy is Caucasian, 30ish, male. Funny, and warm with an infectious personality. He has been raised as one of Santa's Elves and has the innocence of a child. He has outrageous enthusiasm for everything he sees and does but it is very genuine. We are seeking a comedian with great subtle timing and an amazing singing voice.
WALTER
This role was played by James Caan in the movie. Walter is Caucasian, 50s, male. He is a upscale successful business man who has become cold and distant with his family until Buddy enters their life. He is a workaholic with little time left for enjoying life or appreciating simple things. Must have a great singing voice.
EMILY
Female, Caucasian, age 40s, warm, amazing singing voice.
MICHAEL
Male, Caucasian, 10 yrs old, funny, smart, amazing singing voice.
Note: The casting director's intent is to cast an EMC performer in this role.
JOVIE
This role was played by Zooey Deschanel in the movie. Female, 20s to 30s, warm, funny and comedic. A New Yorker that doesn’t have much Christmas spirit until meeting Buddy. Must have a great singing voice.
STORE MANAGER
Male, non-white, 30s to 40s, funny, physically large, full of character, lots of attitude, sassy and spirited. Must be able to sing well and have great comic timing

Female, any ethnicity, 30s to 40s, funny secretary, full of character and sharp wit, amazing singing voice.
MR. GREENWAY
Male, any ethnicity, 50s, shrewd businessman, must have an amazing singing voice and great comic timing.
