SEEKING:

TRACK 1: REAL ADEM / ČELIK / REGISTRAR – Male-presenting, 30s-50s, any race/ethnicity.

REAL ADEM – Older, front-lines veteran-turned-mechanic, driven by his belief that the truth must be told at all costs, sustained long-term loss of ability in his hands from the abuse of the Commission for Public Order, attempting to spark the flame of dissension.

ČELIK – Enjoys the privileges of his elite position, and barely conceals his aspirations to be Minister of Culture, while preaching the platitudes of the Ministry of Culture, sees himself as a benevolent hand slowly moving the needle, feels that the others should be grateful for his discernment of their value.

REGISTRAR – Older, distinguished, commands the room and keeps order during the wedding proceedings, leads the rest of the weddinggoers throughout the show.

TRACK 2: HARI / ADEM / GROOM – Male-presenting, late 20s-40s, any race/ethnicity.

HARI – Son of the Minister of Culture, rebellious, does not agree with his parents and their political ideals.

ADEM – Front-line veteran-turned-mechanic, fantastic memory for conversations, wants to try his hand at writing a play and tell the truths of everyday life and ultimately pays the price for it, does not understand the artificial truth that Čelik seeks to propagate.

GROOM – JOEL, a young groom, excited to marry his fiancé.

INTIMACY NOTE: Engages in intimacy staging with TRACK 3, including partially disrobing, kissing on the neck and mouth, and the initiating steps to implied theatrically depicted intercourse.

TRACK 3: MEI / BRIDE – Female-presenting, late 20s-40s, any race/ethnicity.

MEI – Front-line veteran and assistant in the Ministry of Culture. Prior to her new employment she did not have any context for the theatre, as she grows in her confidence she finds herself stirred by ADEM's writing, believes in an artist's imperative to highlight the truth.

BRIDE – LEYLA, a young bride, excited to marry her fiancé.

INTIMACY NOTE: Engages in intimacy staging with TRACK 2, including partially disrobing, kissing on the neck and mouth, and the initiating steps to implied theatrically depicted intercourse.

TRACK 4: BAX / BEST MAN – Male-presenting, 30s-40s, any race/ethnicity.

BAX – Playwright, struggling with alcoholism and grief after the loss of his wife, used to write more daring plays before ČELIK took him under his wing. The uncomfortable mirror of ADEM's writing forces him to confront his own complicity with the Ministry of Culture's agenda.

BEST MAN – Best friends with JOEL, guitarist and poor singer.

Other roles to be played by members of the company listed above, specific tracking to be determined:

SENIOR OFFICER AKA REAL ČELIK: Male-presenting, 30s-50s, any race/ethnicity. Previously of the Ministry of Culture, his career was ruined in the wake of ADEM's play but is given another chance to put down their political dissension as the newly minted Director of Public Prosecutions. Hardened, bitter, aggressive.

OFFICER PETROV: Male-presenting, 18+, any race/ethnicity. A high-ranking member of the Commission for Public Order. Abrupt and enamored of his own power.

AGENTS OF THE COMMISSION FOR PUBLIC ORDER (CPO): Male-presenting, 18+, any race/ethnicity. Rank and file law-enforcement. They function as a unit, devoid of empathy and individuality.

MUSICIAN: Any gender presentation, 18+, any race/ethnicity. Likely a guitar or keyboard player, but an exact determination will be made based on the musical ability of the actors.
