SYNOPSIS: Sophocles’ timeless story of the struggle between the laws of men and the laws of the gods; between following the World or following the Heart.

SEEKING:

ANTIGONE (daughter of Oedipus) - 20s - 30s - passionate, impulsive, determined, with deep. sense of right and wrong

CREON (King of Thebes) - 30s - 50s - powerful, controlled, defensive, with a devotion to order and conformity.

ISMENE (sister of Antigone) - 20s - 30s - sympathetic, devoted, fearful, proper.

HAEMON (son of Creon) - 20s - 30s - passionate, headstrong, devoted.

TIRESIAS (soothsayer and prophet) - 50s - 60s - world-weary, wise, detached and yet deeply concerned and connected.

EURYDICE (wife of Creon) - 30s - 40s - doting, wounded, distraught.

CHORUS- citizens of Thebes.

GUARD- 20s - 40s - responsible, sardonic, and bit brazen.

MESSENGER - 20s -40s - dutiful and hard-working.
