PREPARATION

Please bring two (2) copies of your headshot and resume stapled together. If you are auditioning for ANYTHING GOES, please prepare two brief musical theatre selections (one up-tempo and one ballad) in the style of the show. If you are auditioning for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, please see breakdown for instructions on what to prepare for the character you are auditioning for. An accompanist will be provided.

ANYTHING GOES

SEEKING:

RENO SWEENEY - A charismatic nightclub singer and former evangelist, she is clever, funny, persuasive and extremely confident. A strong singer and dancer with comedic timing. VOCAL RANGE: Alto/Belt.

RENO’S ANGELS (4) – Backup singers/dancers in Reno’s act, they are showgirls with pizzazz and personality. All have strong singing and dancing skills. VOCAL RANGE: Various.

HOPE HARCOURT - A beautiful heiress with a strong sense of duty, she is willing to sacrifice love and marry to satisfy her mother’s wishes. Has strong singing and dancing skills. VOCAL RANGE: Soprano.

BILLY CROCKER – A young businessman who is in love with Hope, he charismatic and charming. Has strong singing and dancing skills. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone/Tenor.

LORD EVELYN OAKLEIGH - Hope’s energetic, quirky, and good-natured aristocratic fiancé. English accent. Has strong singing and dancing skills. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone.

EVANGELINE HARCOURT - Hope’s overbearing mother who is mainly concerned with money and social status. Sings with ensemble only.

MOONFACE MARTIN - A loveable gangster who is also loyal and willing to go the distance for a friend. Has strong comic timing, plus the ability to sing and move well. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone.

ERMA LATOUR - A playful, independent, impulsive, and loveably clueless “dame” – a typical 20’s “gun moll” with a ‘Joisey’ accent. Strong singing and dancing. VOCAL RANGE: Mezzo/Belt.

ELISHA WHITNEY - A successful Wall Street banker who is nearsighted and thinks he is always right. Ability to move well is a plus. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone

REGINALD STRONG – Captain of the S. S. American. Ability to move well is a plus. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone.

MALE / FEMALE ENSEMBLE – Passengers, stowaways, and members of the crew of the S.S. American. All sing and move well. Various roles will be cast from the ensemble.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

ELVIS – 20s; male; singer/guitar player. Elvis in his 20s at the beginning of his career. Familiar with his music and is able to play guitar; sounds and looks somewhat like Elvis without being an “impersonator.” In the production, Elvis sings: “Memories Are Made Of This,” “That’s All Right,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Peace In The Valley,” “Party,” and “Hound Dog.” To audition: Please prepare an Elvis Presley song (or a song in that style or from the era) and accompany yourself on the guitar.

JERRY LEE LEWIS – 20s-early 30s; male; singer/pianist; he was rock ‘n’ roll’s legendary piano prodigy and celebrated “Last Man Standing.” A superb piano player; fun, energetic; comic skills a plus. In the production, Jerry Lee Lewis sings: “Real Wild Child,” “Great Balls Of Fire,” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.” To audition: Please prepare a Jerry Lee Lewis song (or song in that style or from the era) and accompany yourself on the piano.

CARL PERKINS – mid 20s; male; singer/guitar player (lead guitar); he was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes.” An excellent lead guitarist. In the production, Carl Perkins sings: “Matchbox,” “Who Do You Love?,” “My Babe,” and “See You Later, Alligator.” To audition: Please prepare a Carl Perkins or Elvis Presley song (or song in that style from that era) and accompany yourself on the guitar. An amp will be provided.

JOHNNY CASH – late 20s-late 30s; male; singer/guitar player. Johnny Cash at the dawn of his epic career. Familiar with his music and able to play guitar; tall; sounds and looks somewhat like Johnny without being an “impersonator.” In the production, Johnny Cash sings: “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk The Line,” and “Riders In The Sky.” To audition: Please prepare a Johnny Cash song (or song in that style from that era) and accompany yourself on the guitar.

SAM PHILLIPS – mid-30s-40s; “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and founder of Sun Records who discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and many others including Roy Orbison and B.B. King; a towering and charismatic figure in American music. To audition: Actors will be asked to prepare sides from the show.

DYANNE – 20s-early 30s; ALL ETHNICITIES ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT. Excellent singer; an aspiring singer and Elvis’s girlfriend; ahead of her time and assertive, she’s a great singer with a wide range; sings solos and back-up throughout the show; sings “Fever” in her alto range and covers the high soprano part of “Riders In The Sky” (Johnny Cash song). In the production, Dyanne sings “Fever” and “I Hear You Knockin’. To audition: Please prepare a song from the era.

Requirement for proof of vaccination/negative test.

Everyone entering the audition venue (i.e., venue employees, Equity members, non-members, casting personnel, creatives, producers, musicians, COVID Safety Managers, etc.) will be required to undergo a symptom check and provide one of the following prior to entry into the venue:

- Proof of full vaccination. “Fully vaccinated,” as defined by the CDC, is more than 14 calendar days following receipt of a final dose of an FDA or World Health Organization authorized or approved vaccine.

Two-ply cloth face masks, surgical masks, singer’s masks and respirators (N95, KN95 or KF94) will be allowed for face coverings. Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable face coverings. Everyone in the holding room and audition room will always wear a face covering as described above, except for the actor when they are actively auditioning. The time spent unmasked should be as minimal as possible. Face coverings must be worn correctly (covering the nose and mouth). If the risk level for Palm Beach County is trending upwards and may rise to High (Red) we will contact members with appointments at least 24 hours before the first audition appointment time to let them know there is a chance that the auditions may need to be postponed or cancelled. All members with appointments will be notified if the auditions must be postponed or cancelled.

We encourage members to prepare for their audition at home, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms. Additional information required in notice:

Holding/Audition room information:

The audition room is 2,500 square feet and can accommodate no more than 25 individuals at a time.

The holding room is 25,000 square feet and can accommodate no more than 694 individuals at a time.
