Always a Bridesmaid, a contemporary comedy by Jessie James, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, plays at Two Muses Theatre from Sept 11 through Sept 27.

A joint production with The Dio--Dining & Entertainment, the highly popular show enjoyed a successful seven weekend run in Pinckney over the summer and will now move to West Bloomfield for another three weekends in September. With this show, Two Muses Theatre fulfills its mission to provide opportunities for women in the often male-dominated world of theatre by employing a cast of six talented local women.

In this hilarious comedic romp, four Southern friends-for-life have sworn to keep the promise they made on the night of their senior prom: to be in each other's weddings ... no matter what. More than thirty years later, these loyal women repeatedly struggle to stage the perfect wedding in spite of fistfights at the altar and runaway brides, proving that careers, waistlines and even marriages may disappear, but real friendships last a lifetime.

Wendy Hedstrom (Clarkston), Sonja Marquis (Brighton), Amy Morrisey (Northville) and Nancy Penvose (Davisburg) play the four friends, Ann Dilworth (Howell) plays their goddaughter and bride-to-be, and Fran Potasnik (Saline) plays the eccentric owner of the wedding venue. The show is directed by Steve DeBruyne, Artistic Director of the Dionysus Theatre.

Opening its fifth professional theatre season, Two Muses Theatre is an intimate 130-seat performance space located behind the Starbucks Café wall inside the West Bloomfield Barnes & Noble at 6800 Orchard Lake Road (south of Maple). Patrons who arrive early can shop for books and gifts, grab a snack or dinner at Starbucks, and enjoy their coffee drinks inside the theatre.

Performances run weekends, Sept 11 through Sept 27. General admission advance tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students and senior citizens (62+) or $2 more at the door. Discounted advance tickets may be purchased online at www.TwoMusesTheatre.org/tickets or by phone at 248-850-9919 during box office hours, Monday through Saturday from 10am-5pm. Tickets are not sold through Barnes & Noble and may only be purchased in person one hour prior to each performance. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance. There is ample free parking and handicap accessibility. For more information, visit www.twomusestheatre.org.

Support for Always a Bridesmaid is provided by an operational grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment of the Arts. All funds raised from performances go directly into maintaining the theatre and contributing to charitable organizations centered on women and families.
