Pontiac Theatre IV Gears Up To Do The Time Warp Again In Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW

Pontiac Theatre IV will open its 2018/2019 season on October 26th with THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, live on stage! Directed by Steven Cunningham (Clarkston), choreographed by Sharon Heltsley (Waterford), and music directed by Richard Alder (Westland), The Rocky Horror Show plays Fridays and Saturdays from October 26th to November 10th at 8pm at Pontiac High School.

In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad (Adam Wager, Waterford) and Janet (Jenna Kellie Pittman, Waterford), stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of transvestite scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter (McKinley Shaw, Waterford). Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters as their innocence is lost, including rocking biker Eddie (Brett Fallis, Pontiac) and creepy butler Riff Raff (Marshall Brown, Auburn Hills). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named "Rocky" (Gary Essenmacher, Royal Oak).

That sweet transvestite and his motley crew did the Time Warp on Broadway in a 25th anniversary revival. Complete with sass from the audience, cascading toilet paper, and an array of other audience participation props, this deliberately kitschy rock 'n' roll sci-fi gothic musical is more fun than ever.

Tickets are $12 per person, $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are currently available online at http://pontiactheatreiv.com/ and will also be available at the door; group rates available online. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Gleaners Community Food Bank and receive a free popcorn at the concession stand during the show.

The original production of The Rocky Horror Show, with music, lyrics, and book by Richard O'Brien, premiered in London in 1973. It was then adapted into the famous 1975 film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and still has the longest-running release in film history to this day. The Rocky Horror Show has since become a cultural icon which promotes empowerment of self-creation and all sexual orientations, and boasts such famous songs as Science Fiction/Double Feature, Dammit, Janet!, Sweet Transvestite, Hot Patootie, and, of course, The Time Warp. Pontiac Theatre IV's production is presented through special arrangement with Samuel French.

Pontiac Theatre IV began as a summer venture in 1969 with what was then the Pontiac Parks and Recreation Department (now Community and Human Services) of the City of Pontiac. Over the years we have enjoyed the support of local business and industry, the Pontiac schools, and the City of Pontiac, which still provides space for storage and rehearsals. As a community theatre, the group welcomes the participation of all interested people.
