The Leigh Daniels Ensemble will perform at the Performance Network in downtown Ann Arbor on Wednesday, October 28. The concert offers the opportunity to hear a mix of contemporary, classical and jazz compositions by Daniels, including several new works. All proceeds from
ticket sales benefit the Performance Network, which is located at 120 East Huron Street. The concert begins at 8:00 pm and tickets start at $25 ($5 student and senior discounts available with valid ID). Tickets are available for sale through the PNT box office, 734-663-0681 or boxoffice@performancenetwork.org. Learn more at www.leighdaniels.com or www.performancenetwork.org.

Joining leader and bassist Daniels on the stage will be Leslie DeShazor Adams, viola and Assistant Director; Buddy Budson, piano; George Davidson, drums; Rob Pipho, vibraphone; Terry Kimura, trombone; Kathleen Moore, voice and percussion; Judith Teasdle, violin; Brad Phillips, violin and mandolin; and Nancy Millen and Katri Ervamaa, cello.

Daniels is thrilled with the talent presented through the Ensemble. "Although I am the leader, I also am learning from the excellent musicians who are bringing the notes I write‹and those of others‹to life," says Daniels. "I have built the music and the program on the premise that through teaching and learning from each other, we can produce sounds and forms that are interesting, inventive and immensely satisfying to listeners. For me the process of playing together over time is at least as important as playing a concert."

Carla Milarch, Performance Network's Executive Director said ³We¹re so happy to be able to feature one of our long time supporters on our stage. Leigh Daniels has provided The Network with such a unique opportunity to introduce each of our respective audiences to the depth and breadth of Ann Arbor¹s arts offerings. We can't thank him and his Ensemble enough for their generous offer to play a benefit concert for our theatre."

Leigh Daniels Ensemble's first CD, "Six Steps to Heaven" will feature studio and live recordings. Information about the Ensemble and the CD is available at www.leighdaniels.com.
