"Made In Flint Actors, Directors, and Producers Return for Symposium"

Flint Club Inaugural Symposium - "Quiet on the Set"
"The Flint area has produced numerous individuals who have been successful in their chosen field of endeavor. The "Quiet on the Set" film symposium is bringing several of them home to provide a first hand, behind the scenes introduction to key facets of the film industry. The event will provide something for everyone - from those serious about the film industry to those who just want more information. We are please to be able to help residents in the Flint area position themselves to capitalize on opportunities in this emerging industry in Michigan," according to Executive Director, Rhoda Matthews.

"Quiet on the Set" will feature Ben Cain-Actor (recently playing roles in Heroes and CSI: Miami), Alex Grossman-Director (www.menonthestreet.com) and Michael Ramsdell- Producer (www.underthehoodproductions.com). These industry insiders received their start and inspiration right here in Flint, MI. They will present workshops on acting, improvisation, producing, directing and the needs of production crews, while expounding on their experience in the industry and sharing tips from an insider's point of view. Sultan Sharief of Ann Arbor, MI will also join them. He is a Director/screen writer working with the University of Michigan. (www.bilalstand.com). This event occurs on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the Durant-Dort Office building located at 316 Water Street, Flint, Michigan 48503. (off of Grand Traverse St. in the historic Carriage Town district.) Time: 9am to 4 pm.
