The Theatre Arts program of the School of Liberal Arts of Henry Ford College celebrates summer with A. R. Gurney's touching and humorous memory play,
What I Did Last Summer, on August 9,10,11,12, and 16, 17, 18,19.
It's 1945 and Dad is away at war. Charlie, a 14-year-old vacationing with his mother and sister, expected to spend the summer loafing and socializing with friends. Instead, he is facing his first job, first girlfriend, and -- scariest of all -- radical ideas about the meaning of life that frighten his conservative mother.
"The play is warm, touching and humorous, with something to say about the conflict between materialism and idealism which is so basic to the American dream."
