This week, Go Comedy! Improv Theatre celebrates its 10-year anniversary. The award-winning improv theater will host special Go Comedy! reunion shows and All Star Showdowns that will welcome back original cast members from the past decade. Tickets for all Go Comedy! shows are on sale online at www.gocomedy.net or in person starting at 6:00pm Wednesday through Sunday at the Go Comedy! Box Office.

TEN years of original comedy In the fall of 2008 the former Ferndale Secretary of State office was transformed into Go Comedy! Improv Theater - a catalyst for hundreds of original shows, a robust improv academy, and an incubator for innovation, inspiration and integrity.

Founded by Pj Jacokes, Tommy LeRoy, Chris DiAngelo, and Gerald Knight, The improv theatre has become a home for hundreds of improvisers and artists, as well as a world-renown generator of original comedies and more. Jacokes, LeRoy, and DiAngelo had been working together and improvising for nearly a decade when Gerald Knight approached them with a plan to financially bring their dreams to life. A little over a year later, the four successfully opened their dream - a Detroit area home for improv, comedy and artists. Tragically, as the theater prepared for its anniversary, Gerald Knight suddenly passed away in October. "All of us owe everything we have built here to the commitment and dedication of Gerald Knight. His loss is as monumental to us as his presence," stated Pj Jacokes. "We know right now, Gerald would be so proud of all that we've accomplished and celebrate everyone who's ever walked through our doors with a big smile and hearty thumbs up."

In celebration of its Tenth Anniversary, Go Comedy! is hosting two reunion shows featuring the theater's launch groups over the past decade. Go Comedy!'s launch groups have been the home of the theater's up & coming artists when they join the theater's resident company. Reunion shows for these groups are at 7:30 pm tonight, November 7, and at 7:00 pm Sunday, November 11. Tickets are $10.

This weekend, Go Comedy!'s longest running show, and its anchor since 2008, The All Star Showdown, will feature original teams and resident artists from the company's first season through today. The Go Comedy! All Star Showdown plays at 8:00pm & 10:00pm Friday and Saturday evening. Tickets are $18. The Go Comedy! All Star Showdown

The theater's signature show continues to be The Go Comedy! All Star Showdown which has played on Friday and Saturday nights continually for nearly 10 years. Featuring members of Go Comedy!'s resident company, The All Star Showdown puts two teams of improvisers in an improv competition tailored to challenge their abilities, think on their feet and give audiences a roaring good time. The cast also plays for audience members who take home fabulous prizes when their team wins. It's a night of hilarious laughs and great times!
