Jazz Organ Blues at Dazzle at the Denver Performing Arts Complex

Jazz Organ Blues is presented by the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, exploring the evolution of the Hammond B-3 organ in jazz, from the gospel-rooted early players to Jimmy Smith's defining influence in the 1950s. The program blends blues, swing, and hard bop, honoring the tradition shaped by artists such as Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff, and Shirley Scott. CJRO Artistic Director Drew Zaremba takes his seat at the organ, joined by Steve Kovalcheck on guitar, Jim White on drums, and vocalist Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield.
