And So We Walked: An Artist's Journey Along the Trail of Tears is a solo theatrical memoir written and performed by DeLanna Studi, a Cherokee performance artist, writer, and activist. In it, Studi recounts embarking on a 900-mile journey along the Trail of Tears with her aging father, seeking to understand her own identity and her relationship to the modern Cherokee Nation. Drawing on historical research, personal experience, and interviews, the piece moves between past, present, and dream, exploring the forced relocation of her ancestors and its lasting legacy. Directed by Corey Madden, the production is presented at the Singleton Theatre.
