Meredith Willson's The Music Man, the six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy, comes to The Playhouse on Rodney Square June 5–7, 2026. The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band, until he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen. Featuring songs such as "Seventy-Six Trombones," "Ya Got Trouble," and "'Till There Was You," this production is directed by Matt Lenz with choreography by Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Joshua Bergasse. Scenic design is by Ann Beyersdorfer, lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington, and costumes by Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto.
