American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard To Perform At Victoria
Victoria Theatre Association's Universal 1 Credit Union VIC150 Music Series presents RUBEN SINGS LUTHER, featuring American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard as he pays tribute to Grammy Award - winning, R&B singer and songwriter, Luther Vandross, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Victoria Theatre. RUBEN SINGS LUTHER is a vocal tribute to legendary singer and songwriter, Luther Vandross, by American Idol winner Ruben Studdard. "My goal was to not only to pay tribute to Luther but to add my own passion on top of Luther's brilliant songs," said Studdard (on his website RubenStuddard.com). As for the tour, we are not only recreating some of the production elements, musicians, background singers, wardrobe and lighting that were ever present when Luther took the stage, but my heart and soul will be in every note I sing as I honor one of the greatest vocalists we've ever had.
