West Valley Dance Company

West Valley Dance Company was founded in 1976, growing from a single dance class at Action Day Schools into one of the larger dance schools in the South Bay. It now runs studios at 1226 S. Bascom Avenue and 2184 Lincoln Avenue in San Jose, 1939 W. El Camino Real in Mountain View, a dedicated ballroom studio on Bascom, classes at Action Day Schools, and its own dancewear boutique. Training runs from Tiny Tots for ages 18 months to 2.5 years through to advanced levels, in acro and tumbling, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical, musical theatre, and ballroom and Latin partner dance including waltz, tango, cha cha and samba. Performance Team classes combine jazz technique with choreography shown at holiday events and the end-of-year recital, while Competitive Teams compete at local and national competitions from February to July. The studio also offers wedding first-dance lessons, birthday parties, trial classes and an annual open house.
