About this studio
The State Ballet of Rhode Island is a non-profit civic classical ballet company that gave its premiere performance in November 1960 and is now in its sixty-sixth season. Its official school, Brae Crest School of Ballet, was founded in 1958 and operates from a historic studio on Sherman Avenue in Lincoln under director Herci Marsden. The school runs year-round programs for all ages, teaching ballet technique, pointe, character, pas de deux and variations across pre-primary to professional levels in ten-week terms. New students may take a free trial class, and scholarships are available. Students can audition to perform with the company, and summer classes, children's camps and an adult workshop are offered.
