About this studio
The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, at 1016 N. Dearborn Street in Chicago's Gold Coast, was founded by the Chicago dancer and choreographer Ruth Page and has served the city for more than 50 years from a historic 1926 building with five fully equipped dance studios and a 218-seat theatre. The Ruth Page Foundation runs the Ruth Page School of Dance, which offers dance and fitness classes for people of all ages and abilities, plus a Professional Dance Training Program for pre-professional trainees with auditions, commissioned works and performance opportunities. Around 150 young dance students train there each year. Other programs include summer intensives, tuition scholarships, international sister school partnerships, community engagement initiatives, In-Residence office space for arts organizations, and subsidised studio and theatre rentals for non-profit performing arts companies.
