Susie Karlik's Dance Sensation

Susie Karlik's Dance Sensation is a children's and teens' dance studio at 1049 Stuyvesant Avenue in Union, New Jersey, celebrating 28 years of teaching. It offers tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, acro and hip hop for students from age two and a half upwards, in a purpose-built facility with two large dance rooms, a dancers' lounge and a parents' waiting room. Instruction follows a professional dance syllabus and concentrates on technique, body placement, muscle strengthening, posture, conditioning, terminology, coordination and self-esteem, with teachers regularly retrained in current styles. The studio is home to the SKDS Company Dancers, a competition team that the studio says earns high overall scores, choreography and costume awards and scholarships at regional and national competitions. Students travel in from Union, Kenilworth, Maplewood, Springfield, Roselle Park, Hillside and Elizabeth. Summer classes and birthday parties are also offered.
