Basically Ballet Studio

Basically Ballet Studio has been at 120 N. Main Street in Forked River, New Jersey since 1992, serving Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, Bayville, Waretown, Barnegat, Manahawkin, Whiting and Long Beach Island. It concentrates on precise, progressive classical technique in a supportive setting under the motto "Reaching the Barre of Excellence". The syllabus runs from Mom and Me Ballerina Tea for toddlers with a parent, through Creative Movement for ages 3-5 and Pre-Ballet for ages 5-6, into formal training in Ballet I and II from about age 6, Ballet III, and then Junior Company and Senior Company, the most advanced level, which introduces pointe work and prepares dancers for further training elsewhere. Modern dance is offered from age 10 through adult. Advanced levels give several community performances a year and every student appears in a low-key June show; costume rental is included in the registration fee. Prospective students may take one trial class for a $10 fee, and the studio also runs summer classes and birthday parties.
