About this studio
Sherri's School of Dance is in downtown Morganton, North Carolina, on the upper level of 114 West Union Street with parking and entrance at the rear, and has served Burke County for more than 40 years. It is owned by Sherri McGimsey, who has run the studio for 43 years and has more than 50 years of dance experience and continues to teach the younger groups herself. She is joined by Rebecca Toscano, who brings 23 years of experience as both student and teacher and adds hip hop, jazz and tap to the timetable. The school stresses that all classes are supervised, and it maintains a parent portal with online registration alongside a printable form and a waiting list for new students. The 2026-2027 season begins the week of 12 September, the year ends with a spring showcase, and summer dance camps are run each year; recital videos going back to 1981 are archived for families to request.
