About this studio
Rafael Grigorian Ballet School and Performing Company serves New York's Southern Tier with classical ballet training. Master Rafael Grigorian, trained at the Baku Choreographic Institute and the Kirov Ballet School and a former principal dancer in Azerbaijan, opened the school in the Elmira and Corning area in 1991 and expanded to Binghamton in 1998. He also founded the non-profit Rafael Grigorian Ballet Theatre in 1994, resident company of the Clemens Center in Elmira. The school offers beginning through advanced classes for dancers as young as three through teen and adult groups, plus master classes and summer intensives, and states its mission is to meet each dancer's needs whether recreational or at a national competitive level.
