About this studio
Filippetti's Dance Academy is a family-run studio in Historic Hanover Square at 109 East Franklin Street, Horseheads, New York, with about 30 years of operation. It is owned by Mia Filippetti Wise, who opened the school with her parents and has directed the dance program at Elmira College for over 30 years; studio director Jennifer Karski is a former Filippetti's competitor with a BA in dance, theatre and communications. Teaching staff hold degrees in dance, theatre and early childhood education. Classes run from pre-school through adult, beginning with Creative Movement at ages 3 and 4 and ballet/tap combination classes, moving through teen and pre-teen technique classes, adult jazz, tap and ballet, and a boys-only class.
