About this studio

Armour Dance Theatre runs the South Miami Academy, which it describes as Miami's oldest dance conservatory with a history of more than 70 years. The Academy began as a ballet school and has since broadened its curriculum to include tap, musical theatre, hip hop, contemporary and flamenco, catering both to children aiming at professional careers and to those who simply want to explore different genres. Alumni have gone on to companies including Martha Graham Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre and Dance Theatre of Harlem.
