About this studio
En Pointe Dance Academy is a small, locally owned studio in the Norge area of Williamsburg, Virginia, whose stated mission is to provide safe and proper training in classical ballet and other genres of dance. Its ballet syllabus combines the Vaganova method with a modern understanding of anatomy and physical education, and the school places a strong emphasis on dancer health, wellness and technical growth. While classical ballet is the core, students are also exposed to jazz (Broadway, street and contemporary), tap, hip hop, modern, lyrical and musical theatre, with ballet recommended alongside the other genres. Classes begin at age three, a Mommy & Me class serves children from 18 months, and an adult division is available for those starting or continuing training. The studio presents an annual spring showcase.
