Dance classes in Port Washington, New York
Danceworks NY Inc. is a studio in Port Washington, New York, owned and directed by Trish Gargani, whose stated aim is to help students access their creativity while developing technique, discipline and self-confidence in a fun and stimulating environment. Classes are open to boys and girls of every age and level with flexible hours, starting with Tutu's & Tiara's for very young children, which uses dress-up, props, singing and tumbling to introduce movement, and progressing through combo classes (ballet/tap, ballet/jazz and jazz/hip hop/tap) to technique classes in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, lyrical, breakdance, pre-pointe and pointe. The studio describes itself as the only one in Port Washington with a travelling competition team, and runs three audition-based tracks: Pre-Team for ages 6-10, Company 1 competing once or twice a year, and Company 2 for petite, junior and senior dancers competing at least three times a year on Long Island. All classes perform in an annual recital, and the studio also hosts birthday parties.
