The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based at the Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center, 111 SW 5th Ave, Miami. Founded in 2006 by Pedro Pablo Pena, director of the International Ballet Festival of Miami, it is the only professional ballet company in Miami devoted exclusively to the classical repertoire, and it works to preserve the Cuban ballet tradition. Alongside the company it runs the CCBM School, which teaches strictly within the classical Cuban methodology and takes students from beginner to professional level: Pre-Ballet I (ages 3-4), Pre-Ballet II (5+), Ballet I, II and III, plus beginner, intermediate/advanced and professional classes for adults aged 18 and over, with drop-in options. A mandatory annual school performance takes place each June, the school and company stage The Nutcracker every autumn, and up to two weeks of summer intensive classes are offered alongside the IBFM Summer Intensive for ages 8 to 18.
