About this studio
IFE-ILE is a Miami, Florida non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and cultivating Afro-Cuban culture and folklore through the arts. It works to build cross-cultural understanding and to educate community members and visitors through traditional and contemporary Afro-Cuban dance, live music performance, festivals, lectures, workshops, seminars, poetry readings and other art forms. Alongside its performing company the organization offers classes and workshops and runs an annual IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance Festival in Miami each August, which by 2014 had reached its sixteenth edition. The group describes itself as a long-standing pioneer in promoting Afro-Cuban culture in the United States and a model for similar efforts locally and abroad.
