About this studio
All About Dance is a dance studio at 306 E. Spillman St. in Gonzales, Louisiana, owned by Rae Lyne Melancon and now in its 42nd year. It describes itself as one of the largest studios in Ascension Parish and focuses on technique, artistry, presentation and confidence. The program begins with Creative Movement for two-year-olds, run in two twelve-week sessions a year using music, props and imaginative play, and continues with a tap, jazz and ballet combination class for ages 5 to 8. Older students take separate tap, jazz, ballet (Ballet I from age 9, Ballet II from 11), pointe, contemporary and hip hop classes graded by age and years of experience, plus an optional non-recital tumbling class. Advancement to pointe requires a written test and teacher approval. The studio holds an annual recital and registers families through CompuDance.
