Dancing Grounds is a non-profit community dance organization based at 3705 St. Claude Ave. in New Orleans, operating under the tagline "Building Community Through Dance." It runs two main tracks: a drop-in and membership-based adult class program, and Dance for Social Change (DSC) youth programs serving K-8 and teen youth companies. The adult schedule spans contemporary, beginner and intermediate/advanced hip hop, ballet and ballet barre, salsa fit, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-diaspora groove classes, mat Pilates and dance-fitness/conditioning sessions, most taught at open or all-levels. Classes are free for members and $15 for drop-ins, with pop-up and master classes priced higher; teens take a first class free. The organization also rents studio space, books private classes and performances, and stages the annual Dance for Social Change Festival, now in its eleventh year.
