About this studio
DeLarue Dance Center at 100 Sycamore Dr. in Lafayette, Louisiana was founded in 1970 by Carol DeLarue and has provided dance education for over 50 years, now under the direction of Melodee Zay. The school describes itself as offering quality, structured dance education in a fun, family environment for beginners through advanced levels, with a faculty of around 19 instructors. Beginner students aged 3 to 8, from preschool through first grade, take a 45-minute weekly combination class of tap, ballet and acrobatics, with optional Mini Hip-Hop for kindergarten and first grade. Second graders may take tap and ballet combination, jazz and hip hop.
