Most of us have grown up knowing Dr. Seuss in some way. The stories of Dr. Seuss have taught us how to read, how to rhyme and how to exist in a world full of controversy and mayhem. It has taught us that children often know much more than we think. And, that imagination (when used properly) can solve a myriad of problems. In fact, it can save the world! We all grow up and forget the simple lessons that we learned as children. What happens when we listen to a 10-year-old child who just might have it all figured out. What happens when we let a Cat take us away and make us forget the seriousness of it all? Is there a heroic problem solver inside each and every one of us? What happens when we remember how to laugh again? This version of Seussical will be different from others you have experienced. Absurd, magical, and infused with comedy. Using the Cat in the Hat and two of his assistants as storytellers, the story will be told in a unique way. Using improv, choreography, movement, devised theatre, and audience participation, the characters will tell a story that is long overdue in this world. Inclusion and acceptance taught by a lovable elephant and his care for tiny people on a clover who need his help to be heard. Music by Stephen Flaherty. Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Book by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty. Based on the works of Dr. Seuss.
