Eva Luna at The Latino Cultural Center

Eva Luna

A Co-Production by Teatro Dallas and Echo Theatre Directed by Gabriel Scampini Inspired by Isabel Allende’s award-winning novel and reimagined by playwright, Caridad Svich, this adaptation tells the story of a young woman who refuses to disappear.

Born into poverty and orphaned young, Eva Luna survives through the force of her imagination, transforming hardship into story and invisibility into voice. As she moves through a politically volatile South American country populated by revolutionaries, immigrants, artists, sex workers, exiles and dreamers, Eva discovers that storytelling can become a form of power.

Blending magical realism, live music, memory and ensemble-driven storytelling, Eva Luna follows one woman’s journey from invisibility to authorship of her own life.
