WaterTower Theatre (WTT) presents a very special holiday gift to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For three performances only, Broadway legend Betty Buckley and renowned pianist Kenny Werner will appear on the WaterTower Theatre Main Stage in Betty Buckley & Kenny Werner: Home for the Holidays.
Broadway-star and Tony-award winner Betty Buckley returns home to the North Texas area for the special intimate holiday concert performance. A premier vocalist, Buckley solidified her standing on Broadway with her winning a Tony Award as Grizabella, the Glamour Cat, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. She continued to win accolades for her range of performances with a second Tony nomination for her portrayal as Hesione in Triumph of Love. She received an Olivier nomination for her performance as Norma Desmond in the London production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, which she repeated to more rave reviews on Broadway. In April of 2009, Ms. Buckley received the Texas Medal of Arts Award for Theater and was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame in 2007. Ms. Buckley is celebrating a 20 year collaboration with the pianist Kenny Werner, multi-Grammy nominated recording artist, author and composer. Buckley and Werner have recorded 11 CDs together, the most recent being Quintessence which features their jazz ensemble with selections from the Great American Songbook.Photo credit: Walter McBride
