TITAS Presents, in association with the nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center, announces the 2017/2018 TITAS Presents season featuring an exciting and diverse array of artists ranging from the ­passion of Cuba's Malpaso to the humor and innovation of Lucky Plush and MOMIX to the absolute virtuosity of France's Hervé Koubi and the beauty of Parsons Dance and Ballet Hispánico.

The TITAS Presents season is another stunning collection of the world's most inspiring, innovative and intriguing dance companies.

Inspired|Innovative|Intriguing: Three words that describe the collage and energy that is the upcoming 2017/2018 TITAS Presents season - featuring the return of Momix, Isreal's Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, France's Hervé Koubi, Alonzo King Lines and Parsons Dance Company; the Texas and Dallas debuts of Cuba's Malpaso, Lucky Plush Productions and L.A. Dance Project and the return of Ballet Hispánico to Dallas, and their first time to be in a TITAS season. Year after year, our audiences have come to expect one thing: Innovation. This bold and diverse season, featuring nine internationally acclaimed dance companies, delivers an unprecedented array of mixed media and blended art forms; the very definition of Innovation. TITAS Presents is attracting new audiences and developing new creative programs and cultural collaborations. It remains the coolest ticket in town.

If Salvador Dali and Leonardo da Vinci were inspired by National Geographic you'd get Opus Cactus, Moses Pendleton's mesmerizing evening-length work about the desert world. With their signature style, MOMIX explores the mysterious creatures and cacti of the desert. Dreamlike, wondrous and massively creative, there's nothing like the MOMIX performance experience.

MOMIX brings audiences to their feet as the company's dancer-illusionists conjure magical and surrealistic world using light, shadow, props, humor and the human body. This magical theatrical experience in motion - the kind of provocative, whimsical entertainment that only MOMIX can deliver - is sure to seduce audiences and leave them enlightened and electrified.

Bravura, Cultura Latina y Pasión Latina - Ballet Hispánico has stepped into the limelight of internationally touring dance companies. Stunning dancers, latino choreographers with luscious choreography, the company fuses Latin dance with classical and contemporary techniques creating a new style of concert dance where theatricality and passion propel every move.

In Dallas, the Company will present an all Latino choreographer program. They present repertoire of the foremost choreographers of our time as well as emerging artists, all of which represent rich Latino culture and nationalities including Venezuela, Cuba, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. The Company has offered over 3,350 performances to audiences of over two million throughout 11 countries.

Israel's Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (Israel)

Powerful and unrestrained can't begin to describe the impact of Rami Be'er's choreography on Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. One of the top touring dance companies in the world today, unique, potent and unforgettable, Be'er's works are one of Israel's most exciting cultural exports. To experience a KCDC performance is to sit on the edge of your seat the entire performance.

With its technically strong and physically eclectic cast of dancers and its dynamic sensibility, KCDC characterizes Israeli dance at its best and performs regularly in the most respected theaters and at leading festivals worldwide.

KCDC was founded in 1973 by the late Yehudit Arnon who laid the foundation for today's thriving International Dance Village, which is situated in a beautiful location in Kibbutz Ga'aton, Israel. It was developed and continues to evolve into a first-class center for dance under the leadership of Rami Be'er and KCDC's management and staff. The International Dance Village is the heart and home of the company and is comprised of a total of nearly 80 Israeli and international dancers. These dancers make up KCDC's Main Company, KCDC's Second Company, and KCDC's 5-month & 10-month international study abroad dance program Dance Journey. KCDC also hosts an annual Summer Intensive for both international and Israeli dancers as well as year-round courses.

Cuba's Malpaso Dance Company (Dallas Debut)

Havana, Cuba's Malpaso Dance Company has brought Cuban contemporary dance into the 21st Century and has captured the dance world's attention. With a bold repertoire, in only five short years, the world has fallen in love with Cuba's Malpaso!

Based in Havana, Cuba, Malpaso Dance Company collaborates with top international choreographers and nurtures new voices in Cuban choreography. The company's core artistic vision is led by resident repertory choreographer and artistic director Osnel Delgado. The company was founded in 2012 by Delgado, Dailedys Carrazana and Fernando Saéz, and consists of 11 dancers.

Osnel Delgado graduated as dancer and professor from the National Dance School in 2003. He was a member of Danza Contemporanea de Cuba (DCC) from 2003 to 2011. Delgado has received major Cuban awards including the Premio a Mejor Coreografia del Concurso Solamente Solos (Award for Best Solo Choreography), el Premio Ramiro Guerra (Ramiro Guerra Prize), as well as a Special Mention award at the VII Iberomerican "Alicia Alonso" Choreography competition in Madrid. Delgado has worked with choreographers such as Mats Ek, Rafael Bonachela, Kenneth Kvanstrom, Ja Linkens, Itzik Galili, Samir Akika, Pedro Ruiz, Isidro Rolando, and George Cespedes, among others, and has created works for DCC, Rakatan and Ebony. He serves as professor of dance at the National Dance School in Havana, Cuba.

France's Hervé Koubi

Two years ago, Compagnie Hervé Koubi debuted in Dallas with TITAS Presents and struck the audience speechless, that is until the standing ovation. A French male company with Algerian dancers, they are unique in our season. Fearless, powerful and masculine beyond belief, Hervé Koubi is a stunningly beautiful Dance Company.

Bold, masculine and exciting barely begin to describe Hervé KOUBI. Drawing from his Algerian roots, Hervé KOUBI's work combines capoeira, martial arts, urban and contemporary dance. Powerful and breathtaking imagery, this group of 12 male Algerian and West African dancers defying gravity.

A group of washed-up super heroes join forces to create a non-profit think tank but get caught up in the politics of branding and group dynamics. Fighting evil ain't what it used to be. This is the basis Trip the Light Fantastic: The Making of SuperStrip, Lucky Plush's newest creation. Funny, smart and thought provoking, Lucky Plush is a breath of fresh air in the dance world.

LUCKY PLUSH PRODUCTIONS is a Chicago-based dance theater company led by founder and Artistic Director Julia Rhoads. Lucky Plush is committed to provoking and supporting an immediacy of presence - a palpable liveness - shared by performers in real-time with audiences. A unique hybrid of high-level dance and theater, Lucky Plush's work is recognized for its layered choreography, moving content, surprising humor, and socially relevant storytelling.

Since 2000, Lucky Plush has created 30 original dance-theater works including 14 evening-length productions. In addition to regularly performing in Chicago, the company has presented work in over 40 US cities from Maine to Hawaii, and ts international partners span from New Zealand to Cuba.

Lucky Plush is the first and only Dance Company to receive the prestigious MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions, a recognition of the company's exceptional creativity and impact. Lucky Plush has also received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, NEFA's National Dance Project, National Performance Network, Illinois Arts Council, Metlife Foundation, and the Lester and Hope Abelson Fund.

L.A. Dance Project, in five short years, has toured 11 countries and 34 cities and has established itself as a force to be reckoned with. Great dancers, bold artistic vision and stunning choreography has established L.A. Dance Project as one of the most exciting new companies to burst onto the scene.

L.A. Dance Project, the brainchild of famed choreographer and dancer, Benjamin Millepied, was founded in 2012, along with composer Nico Muhly, art consultant Matthieu Humery, founding producer Charles Fabius and composer Nicholas Britell. Their mission is to create new work and to revive seminal collaborations from influential dance makers. Programs include full-length evenings in traditional theater venues as well as site specific performances in non-traditional environments. New works by the company endeavor to be multidisciplinary collaborations with visual artists, musicians, designers, film directors and composers. L.A. Dance Project promotes the work of emerging and established creators, contributing to new platforms for dance.

Alonzo King LINES Ballet is a celebrated contemporary ballet company that has been guided since 1982 by the unique artistic vision of Alonzo King. Collaborating with noted composers, musicians, and visual artists from around the world, King creates works that draw on a diverse set of deeply rooted cultural traditions, imbuing classical ballet with new expressive potential. Alonzo King understands ballet as a science - founded on universal, geometric principles of energy and evolution - and continues to develop a new language of movement from its classical forms and techniques. Parsons Dance is New York City based modern Dance Company internationally renowned for creating and performing contemporary American dance of extraordinary artistry that is accessible and enriching to diverse audiences. Founded in 1985 by artistic director David Parsons and Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley, Parsons Dance is known for its energized, athletic, ensemble work, and has collaborated with iconic artists across all disciplines including Billy Taylor, Milton Nascimento, Allen Toussaint, William Ivey Long, Donna Karan, Annie Leibovitz, and Alex Katz. The company has toured to more than 380 cities, 22 countries and 5 continents for the most notable theaters, festivals and presenters worldwide including The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Maison de la Danse, Teatro La Fenice and Teatro Muncipal do Rio de Janeiro. Parsons continues to pursue its mission to deliver positive, affirming, life enriching experiences to audiences worldwide by maintaining a repertory of over 75 works by David Parsons and producing his new work.

Tickets for TITAS Presents regular season performances begin at $12. Performance tickets to TITAS Presents Command Performance also begin at $12.

TITAS Presents subscribers receive discounted pricing depending on the number of shows they purchase and season subscriptions are on sale now.

Currently, patrons may purchase either the full season subscription, or a minimum of six titles on a flex-subscription plan.

Individual tickets, should they remain available after subscription sales, will be made available at a later date.

TITAS Presents, led by Executive Director/Artistic Director Charles Santos, is North Texas' foremost presenter of high culture performance art. TITAS Presents has been presenting dance and music in Dallas for 34 years, consistently showcasing artistic excellence and innovative programming from around the world. TITAS Presents has presented over 500 performances with artists from more than 39 countries with over 150 debut events. Through the Neiman Marcus CROSSROADS Educational Outreach program, TITAS Presents has organized well over 600 educational outreach events that include master classes, lecture/demonstrations, artists-in-residencies and post- performance Q&A sessions reaching thousands of audience members. Now in partnership with the AT&T Performing Arts Center, TITAS Presents brings its eclectic and innovative mix of contemporary dance and music to the Dallas Arts District.
