President & Executive Producer Wally Jones is excited to announce the production schedule for Casa Mañana's 2009-2010 The Best of Broadway season.

The Best of Broadway season is a great mix of classic hits and brand new debuts. The 2009 - 2010 season includes: Louis Jordan's hit jazz musical Five Guys Named Moe, October 20 - 25 at Bass Performance Hall; the gruesomely brilliant Broadway classic Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, November 10 - 15 at Casa Mañana Theatre; the Farewell Performances of the internationally-acclaimed music and dance spectacular Riverdance, December 1 - 6 at Bass Performance Hall; Oprah Winfrey Presents The Color Purple, January 26 - 31 at Bass Performance Hall; the hit musical inspired by the legendary and tragic life of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, February 9 - 14 at Casa Mañana Theatre; the Tony Award-winning classic Fiddler on the Roof, March 9 - 14 at Bass Performance Hall; the new musical based on the classic television show, Little House on the Prairie The Musical, June 8 - 13 at Bass Performance Hall; and Andrew Lloyd Webber's original musical extravaganza Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, July 23 - 29 at Bass Performance Hall.

Bring in the new season with Five Guys Named Moe and enjoy the great hits of songwriter and saxophonist Louis Jordan, whose new slant on jazz paved the way for rock-and-roll in the 1950s. Join the conga line that weaves its way through the theatre and into your soul, October 20 - 25 at Bass Performance Hall.
The winner of ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is the gruesomely brilliant musical tale of bitter revenge in Victorian London, November 10 - 15 at Casa Mañana Theatre.

Don't miss the Farewell Performances of Riverdance, the thunderous celebration of Irish music, song and dance that has tapped its way onto the world stage thrilling millions of people around the globe. "A Phenomenon of Historic Proportions!" raves the Washington Post. December 1 - 6 at Bass Performance Hall.

Oprah Winfrey Presents The Color Purple, a soul-stirring musical based on the classic, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker and the Oscar-nominated film by Steven Spielberg. Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, The Color Purple is the unforgettable, inspiring story of Celie, who triumphs over tremendous odds to find joy in life and her true inner beauty, January 26 - 31 at Bass Performance Hall.

Fifty years ago, a man from Lubbock, Texas changed the face of popular music, only to die tragically in a plane crash at the tender age of 22. Now Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story tells the tale of the three years in which he became the world's top recording artist with a show featuring such timeless hits as "Peggy Sue," "That'll Be The Day," "Oh Boy," "Not Fade Away," "True Love Ways," "Everyday," "Rave On," "Heartbeat" and "Raining In My Heart," February 9 - 14 at Casa Mañana Theatre.

Based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof has been lauded by critics again and again and won the hearts of people all around the world. Audiences will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Chaim Topol, star of the original motion picture, in his farewell performance of the award-winning role that made him legendary, March 9 - 14 at Bass Performance Hall.

Little House on the Prairie The Musical takes the inspirational stories of the television classic on a brand new frontier in an uplifting new musical starring Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura for 10 years in the much-loved television series, as "Ma." Families will fall in love all over again with these life-affirming stories that resonates in each of us, June 8 - 13 at Bass Performance Hall.

With a crash of drums and a flash of light Joseph returns to Bass Performance Hall, July 23 - 29, in his dazzling coat of many colors. Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic Broadway musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a retelling of the biblical story of Joseph, his incredible abilities and his fantastic coat.
