SCR to Host Open House October 3
South Coast Repertory is opening its doors on Oct. 3 for a free open house that includes backstage tours, an introduction to the 2011-12 season, light refreshments and a meet-and-greet with new Artistic Director Marc Masterson.
The tours and reception bookend the evening, with the 2011-12 season preview, led by Masterson and Founding Artistic Directors David Emmes and Martin Benson, in the middle. During the preview, Managing Director Paula Tomei will introduce the "Take-Your-Seat" campaign to raise money for the Emmes/Benson Endowment Fund.The schedule:5 - 6:30 p.m.: Tours and Reception
6:30 - 7:15: Season Preview on the Segerstrom Stage
7:15 - 9 p.m.: Tours and ReceptionSpots on the tour include the scene shop, prop shop, and costume maintenance and wig rooms. At each location, someone who works in that area will be on hand with behind-the-scenes information. Tour spots are limited, so reservations are recommended, and can be made by calling 714-708-5555 or visiting www.scr.org/openhouse.
