The Abbey Theater of Dublin presents 1776 - America's Prize Winning Musical in coordination with the City of Dublin's America-250 Celebration, with performances at Coffman Park Amphitheater. Set in the summer of 1776, the musical follows John Adams (Jonathan Collura), Benjamin Franklin (Gregory Patterson), and Thomas Jefferson (William Macke) as they work to convince members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence from Britain by signing the Declaration of Independence. The production is directed by Joe Bishara, Theater Supervisor for the City of Dublin and a member of Actors' Equity Association. Evening performances run May 29-30 and June 5-6, with matinees on May 31 and June 7.
